About Me:
My name is Asma Ebrahim Alblooshi, I am from the United Arab Emirates. I am 26 years old, and a student at Sharjah Women’s College of Technology. I am concentrated on early childhood education, which means I will be a teacher for kindergarten students. I teach students ages three to five years old, and I also can work with younger children.
Furthermore, I can teach young learners because I have experience in daycare which is preschool. At the end of the semester, I will graduate, and I will get a Bachelor's of Education in early childhood education.
I choose to teach and work with kindergarten students because of several aims. The first aim is because I love teaching children, I love the idea of having a lot of children in the classroom, and teaching them about a different subject, and different topics. Also, because children make me happy, they teach me valuable lessons.
Secondly, I believe that I was born to be a professional teacher of children. Also, I believe that I can deal with young learners, I enjoy spending my time with them, creating innovative activities for them, and reading stories to them.
My Purpose
The purpose of this e-portfolio is to demonstrate evidence of my best practice during the last year in one of the international schools in the United Arab Emirates. In addition, it also shows the others what I have done during the teaching practice and evaluates coursework quality. It is a benefit for people to learn more about their education major. This e-portfolio has various pages that include six teaching competencies (commitment to the profession, managing learning, planning for learning, implementing learning, assessment, and reflection) along with evidence. Furthermore, it includes CV, philosophy, professional development, and achievement.
My Beliefs
My beliefs as a Teacher’ have a greater effect than the teacher’s knowledge on planning their lessons. My belief is to identify the learner's real behavior towards the learners. My Beliefs play a key role in teachers’ classroom practices and their professional development. Harste and Burke (1977) and Kuzborska (2011) said that teachers make decisions about their classroom teaching regarding beliefs they have about language teaching and learning. My belief is to identify their real behavior towards the learners. If teachers can determine the learners’ abilities, they will be able to choose and modify their behavior and educational choice appropriately (Li, 2012; Pajares, 1992). My Beliefs play a key role in teachers’ classroom practices and their professional development. Harste and Burke (1977) and Kuzborska (2011) said that teachers make decisions about their classroom teaching regarding beliefs they have about language teaching and learning.
My Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy of education is based on what I know and have experienced at this point in my career. I am sure that my teaching philosophy will change as I learn more like a young professional. That’s one of the gifts of being human; we can make mistakes, or learn something new, and make a change for the better. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
My Curriculum Vitae
My goal as a teacher is to improve my student’s education and help them grow knowledgeable. I like to see students at different levels develop with each other and learn. I want to challenge the students and watch them grow to their highest level of education. Therefore, having the students in groups is the best educational strategy I like to use a lot. I want my students to have freedom with whatever creativity they want, and to allow them to express themselves at any time. With this freedom students will be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and be able to figure their weaknesses and strengths.
Teaching Practices
Teaching kindergarteners is certainly not the easiest thing in the world. Most kindergarten students are just out of preschool and still pretty new to the whole “school thing.” Getting them to stay focused, engaged, and interested in their school work can be a challenge, but it is very important that we, as teachers, start their education career on the right foot.
Parental Involvement
“Parental Involvement” means the participation of parents in regular, two-way, meaningful communication involving student academic learning and other school activities, including ensuring. That parents play an integral role in assisting their child’s learning. the parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education at school. The parents are full partners in their child’s education and are included, as appropriate, in decision-making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child. I decided in my capsoton research project to search how the student's performance can impact the parents invovlment.
